What is a CSA?
CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. It is a way for people to connect with farmers and the products they grow.
What is a meat CSA?
It is a predetermined monthly amount of meat commitment by the consumer who would like to eat healthy and local meat. Each consumer chooses how many months they would like to receive meat for (ie) 3 or 6 months. Then you choose how many pounds of meat you would like to receive -- 5lbs, 10lbs or 20lbs per month.
What is in a meat CSA?
Each month is a mix of varied cuts. This may include ground beef, stew beef, london broil, top round steak, beef sausage, pork chops, pork sausage. Sometimes a higher end cut.
Why join a meat CSA?
Would you like to know where your food is coming from? Who grew it? How it was grown? Then a meat CSA is right for you. Our cattle are humanely raised, grass fed and grain finished for marbling and flavor. They get plenty of sunshine and fresh water too. No hormones or antibiotics. Our meat goes directly from the farm to the butcher to you.
How do you get your meat share?
A preset pick-up site is chosen by you, the customer. You arrive at the site any time during the 1 1/2 hour distribution.
Pick-up Sites
Amherst, MA — Pick up during the farmers market season, May through November, second Saturday of each month, 7:30 am - 1:00 pm. December through May: delivery same location 9:00 - 10:30 am.
Belchertown, MA — Pickup at the farm. First Thursday of each month from 1:00 - 5:00 pm
Central Square, Cambridge, MA — Pickup during farmers' market season, June through November behind Harvest Coop in the parking lot, second Monday of the month from 11:30 - 5:30 pm. December through June, same delivery location, second Monday of the month from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm.
Dover, MA — Pick up second Monday of the month from 2:00 - 3:30 pm at Powisset Farm, 39 Powisset Street, Dover, MA
Northampton, MA — Pick up second Monday 11 am - 12:30 pm, December through April, Potpourri Plaza, King Street, Northampton
Worcester, MA — time and place TBA
Please bring a cooler when you pick up your share.
Other sites to be announced — In order to add new pickup sites, at least 15 people from one area need to sign on as members (pending location). So gather up your friends and co-workers to have our local product delivered to your area soon.
How do you pay for your share?
Payment in full is required for the 3 or 6 month commitment at sign up. Checks and Visa and Master card accepted (see below).
